Back to basics

Hi everyone

I’m going back to basics, I need to make some cards one of which is a mans birthday card and the ideas are slowly coming. I have no idea why men’s cards are so difficult but I think it looks good so far. I will try and figure out how to put up a picture later so you can see the finished card.

I am also working on a new house card and having great fun I ended up covered in ink leaving inky fingerprints all over the craft room

I’m wondering if any of you have used aqua markers? I love my promarkers and was trying to explain how they work to my father in law but I haven’t used the aqua markers before so if any of you know how they work drop me a message.

Crafting Fun

Hi everyone sorry it’s been so long since I last blogged I have been crazy busy with orders I am working on memory books galore I have 3 on order at the mo. I am having trouble getting supplies everything seems to be taking an age to get here so if you know anyone who is quick to deliver let me know :0)

While i have been waiting for stock I have been working on new cards and sweet foils some look great and some don’t look as great but you never know until you try. My poor husband has been watching the bank balance decrease with every purchase much to his horror everything from tape to Slice design cards.

memory books in progress :0)

Hiya everyone

I am in the midst of memory book making and having a great time doing it, my craft room has never been so busy the ink pads are out the mica powder is adding the finishing touches to pages my pinflair is working overtime. The pages are coming together nicely and it’s starting to look really smart even if I do say so myself

Something old

I was tidying through my craft room over the weekend and found my embossing powders, now as every crafter knows if you get the inspiration you have to try.

the tidying got left and the heat gun was found and embossing powder was sprinkled liberally across cards and 12×12 pages to give some new and different effects. I had forgotten how much fun it was to heat emboss. My Versamark pad is now covered in embossing powder but it was worth it.

New things

hiya everyone

I have a new craft toy I’m playing with it’s the sew easy system and it’s really cool I am a stitcher at heart I suppose.
It’s really easy to use which is really nice it gives some lovely effects and will be featuring in more of my work
stamping is still by far my favourite thing to do i usually end up in a state last time I stamped I covered myself in black ink why do you get an itch on your face when your at that crucial moment?
At least my husband could have a giggle

I’m gonna try brayering next so any tips would be greatly appreciated

Bugs and things :0)

I have been hiding out in my craft room playing with my Promarkers and Candi’s trying new bits and pieces out and have added a few new samples to the website.

My dear husband has been working like a mad man to get the web site up and running and has been a saint putting up with me when I can’t make up my mind so I just want to put a quick thank you in here i hope you don’t mind :0)

The very first blog

My labour of love is finished my Wedding memory book is complete and I have to say I am mighty proud of it.
It took me a month for 40 pages of work I don’t think that’s too bad. so now I’m starting my own business I hope making cards and memory books, my lovely new husband has built me a web site ( kirstykraft.co.uk) and now my craft room is a hub of activity. I’m sure it’s obvious I’m new to this blogging thing but I’m sure I’ll get there.
